Ink in water

I tried experimenting with ink in water for an interesting photographic effect. I put the camera ion a tripod to keep it steady and had one person taking the photos and the other one squirting the ink in using a pipette. I used two different colours, pink and black. I tried changing the colours of the ink in photoshop and flipped the image for a different effect. Whilst looking at the images upside-down i put them in black and white, i liked the effect of this thinking it looked like ground with soul like ghostlike figures escaping from it. It had quite a sad looking feeling so i drew some sad people people in ink and them added them to the photo. I think it worked quite well and made a couple of these designs.

Pinhole Photo

This is the photo I created with the pinhole beer can camera which I left to expose for approximately 3 months. It pointed south over my garden and captures the movement of the sun. I am quite pleased with it as it came out well. I've also uploaded the original negative from the beer can which I scanned into photoshop, inverted and changed the levels slightly.

Mock Piece 3

For my third piece I created an image with a person standing infant of a puddle but with no shadow reflected in it. I also created an image with just the reflection and no person standing over the puddle. To do this I found a suitable puddle and took two images, one with the model in the shot and one without them. I then used photoshop to put the images together to either remove the model or the reflection. I then edited the photo.

Mock Piece 2

For this piece I created an image with many of of the same person in it. I created it by taking images from the same place but the the subject moving around in the frame. I then took them all in to photoshop and cut each out to place them all in the same photo. I then edited the photo and tired it in black and white as well as reduced colour.

Mock Piece 1

I created four different pieces which all had a running theme of dreamlike photos of things that are impossible in real life. My first piece is the classic image of a person holding a mirror except theres no mirror but also no person behind the frame. I created it by taking two photos from exactly the same position one with the person and the mirror and another one with only the background in shot. I then took both of them into photoshop and placed the mirror image over the other. I then cut out the inside of the mirror letting the image being show through. 

I also tried putting the photos into Black & White and in reduced colour, I feel that this piece worked okay although I think a different background might have been better.

Harris effect 2

I took some photos while taking pictures for some of my mock pieces and I thought that they could look good as a Harris effect. This is the result of my attempt.

Harris Effect - My Attempts

At first, I quickly attempted to get an idea of making a Harris Effect photo in photoshop, using photos form my Time lapse/stop motion & my Light painting. I then had a dedicated photoshoot for this effect. In this i took photos of a candle and its flame and also the smoke after the candle is blown out. I created three final images.
